No, it’s not a parrot.
No, it’s not a prank.
Yes, a crow is actually talking in Marathi… and it’s not just “ka-ka-ka” anymore!
Welcome to Gargaon, a quiet tribal village near the border of Wada taluka in Palghar, where something truly magical is happening. Amidst the forest fringes and rustic farmlands, lives a humble family — the Mukne household — and with them, a most unusual member: a Marathi-speaking crow.
Two years ago, the Mukne family stumbled upon two injured crow chicks under a tree near their hut. They brought them home, trying their best to nurse them back to health. While one didn’t survive, the other — now named by the family and lovingly fed by their little daughter — began not just healing… but learning.
Yes, learning to talk.
Now about a year and a half old, this crow doesn’t just mimic — it communicates! It utters words like “kaka,” “aai,” “tai,” “bara ka” in clear Marathi tones, surprising not just the family, but now, the entire internet.
“He eats with us, calls out when he’s hungry, even perches on our shoulders like he’s one of us,” says Manglu Mukne, beaming with pride. “And sometimes… he coughs like our grandmother!”
What started as a heartwarming rescue story has now gone viral. The crow’s antics — captured in a short video — are flooding social media, attracting villagers, animal lovers, and curious travelers to the Mukne’s doorstep.
Why it Matters
In a world driven by gadgets and AI, sometimes, it’s the little unscripted wonders of nature and nurture that remind us of life’s unexpected magic. This isn’t just a talking crow — it’s a story of bonding, healing, and the beauty of rural coexistence with wildlife.
So if you ever find yourself in Palghar and hear someone calling “Kaka… Bara Ka?” from a tree — don’t be too quick to answer.
It might just be a feathered friend trying to strike up a chat.
