Mumbai – If you’re a regular commuter on Mumbai’s Aqua Line (Metro Line 3), here’s a quick heads-up: revised operational hours have been announced for April 25 and 26 as part of preparations for the Phase 2 expansion.

🔧 What’s Changing and Why?
Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) announced that Metro services between Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Aarey will run on adjusted timings for two days due to technical reasons and upcoming service upgrades.

Revised Timings:

  • Thursday, April 25: 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM

  • Friday, April 26: 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM

Officials have requested commuters to plan their travel accordingly during this short-term schedule change.

The Phase 1 stretch from Aarey to BKC is already up and running, offering significant time savings by reducing road commute time to just 30 minutes.

  • Daily Trips: 96

  • Timings (Regular): 6:30 AM – 10:30 PM

Phase 2 Set to Expand Metro Reach

The next stretch of Metro Line 3, connecting Dharavi to Worli (Acharya Atre Chowk), is almost ready for launch. Currently awaiting clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), this section is expected to boost metro access for central Mumbai residents and businesses.

Once complete, the 33.5 km fully underground line will connect:

  • 11 hospitals

  • 10 key transport junctions

  • 25 cultural & religious landmarks

Big Picture: 1.4 Million Riders Per Day

Mumbai Metro Line 3 is expected to become a backbone of urban mobility, potentially serving 1.4 million passengers daily once fully operational. While the upcoming timing tweaks may bring minor inconvenience, the metro’s future is looking fast, connected, and transformative for Mumbai’s public transport ecosystem.
