Murshidabad, West Bengal |
In a tragic road accident, four members of a family—including a two-year-old boy—were killed after a dumper truck collided with their two-wheeler in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the Samsherganj area, as the family was travelling from Dak Bungalow More to Farakka. According to police reports, the dumper truck rammed into the two-wheeler from behind, crushing the victims under its wheels. All four were rushed to a nearby hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

The victims have been identified as:

  • Ezaz Sheikh

  • Tauhik Sheikh

  • Zahul Sheikh

  • Two-year-old Asif Sheikh

All were residents of Mahadebnagar village under the Farakka police station jurisdiction.

Following the accident, local residents erupted in anger. An agitated mob blocked the road for over an hour and vandalised the dumper truck involved in the incident, along with several nearby vehicles. A large police force was deployed to control the situation and restore normalcy.

The driver of the dumper truck has since been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
