Chandigarh’s Skating Star: Janvi Jindal Spins Her Way into 5 Guinness World Records—Without a Coach!

Published:

Let’s take a moment to talk about not a cricketing prodigy, not a badminton phenom—but a freestyle skating sensation who’s rewriting the rules of grit and glory.

Meet Janvi Jindal.
A schoolgirl from Chandigarh, no sponsors, no coach, no elite academy—and yet today, she stands tall with 5 Guinness World Records in skating. And mind you, she’s still in Class 12 at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16.

And here’s the twist—her father coached her using YouTube videos. That’s right. While most athletes get polished under seasoned coaches, Janvi trained on public footpaths and showroom fronts in Sector 22, often under streetlights after her dad returned from work.

🏆 Her 5 Guinness Records (All verified in July 2025):

  • 27 inline 360-degree spins in 30 seconds

  • 8.85 seconds: Fastest Slalom (20 cones) on two wheels

  • 42 one-wheeled 360° spins in 30 seconds

  • 72 one-wheeled spins in 1 minute

  • 22 consecutive one-wheeled spins

That’s Not All…

She’s also in the India Book of Records for achievements like:

  • Youngest to perform Bhangra on skates

  • Skating down stairs

  • Performing wheelie spins at Khardung La Pass—yes, that’s one of the world’s highest motorable roads!

The Backstory That’ll Move You

Janvi’s father, Munish Jindal, couldn’t even balance on skates. But every evening, he became her coach, learning from the internet and turning street corners into training grounds. Janvi’s first Guinness attempt was rejected on a technicality. Did she quit? Nope. She doubled down. Practised for a year. And came back stronger.

“When I finally got the confirmation email, my dad surprised me with a cake. That moment still gives me goosebumps,” she told ANI.

From Chandigarh to Global Inspiration

In a city that once produced Yuvraj Singh, who too started as a skater before choosing cricket, Janvi has stuck with skating—and is now India’s youngest girl to hold 5 Guinness titles in the sport. Her goal? “Bal Puraskar”—the National Child Award—and to motivate more girls across India.

“We couldn’t afford international competitions,” says her father, “but Guinness Records gave her the platform she deserved.”

While Indian sports is busy chasing medals and sponsorships, Janvi Jindal is quietly setting world records with nothing but passion, resilience, and street smarts. She isn’t just a skater—she’s a movement on wheels.
