Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi on Wednesday, declaring that India has transformed from a technology importer to a global telecom innovator.
Highlighting India’s digital revolution, PM Modi remarked,
“One GB of data in India today costs less than a cup of tea.”
He credited this achievement to India’s indigenous telecom development and the ‘Make-in-India’ initiative, saying that India’s success story has been “written by its own people.”
Modi announced that India has become the fifth country after Denmark, Sweden, South Korea, and China to develop its own home-grown telecom technology stack. The PM also unveiled India’s fully indigenous 4G stack and its 100% 4G saturation network covering 30,000 villages.
“The world is now looking to India as a reliable partner in telecom manufacturing and design,” he said, noting that India’s 4G stack is export-ready, with nearly one lakh towers operational nationwide.
