Delhi Man Murders Girlfriend in Hotel Room, Stays With Body Overnight

Published:

In a shocking crime in Delhi’s Paharganj, a 31-year-old man allegedly killed his girlfriend in a hotel room and spent the night with her body before trying to flee. The incident took place at Hotel Rohit Deluxe on Saturday.

The man, who worked with the woman at a clock manufacturing unit, was reportedly upset after learning she was seeing someone else. He has been arrested.

What Happened?

Police said the couple checked into the hotel at 4:15 pm on Saturday using their Aadhaar cards. Around 6 pm, they even ordered pizza and lassi through room service. The hotel staff did not notice anything unusual at the time.

Later that night, the couple reportedly fought in the room. Police say the man assaulted the woman and then strangled her with a drawstring. After the murder, he stayed in the room all night with her body.

At around 8:30 am on Sunday, the hotel staff saw the man leaving the hotel in a hurry. When they checked the room, they found the woman lying unresponsive in the bathroom and immediately called the police.

Investigation and Arrest

The police arrived at the scene and confirmed that the woman had been murdered. A case was registered at Nabi Karim police station.

Using technical surveillance and information from locals, police tracked the man down to Ashok Vihar in northwest Delhi and arrested him on Sunday evening. During questioning, he confessed to killing his girlfriend out of anger.

Background

According to police, the couple had been in a relationship for a few years. Recently, the woman had started distancing herself after beginning a new relationship, which enraged the accused.

“He did not want to let her go. They argued in the hotel room, and in a fit of rage, he assaulted and strangled her,” a police officer said.

The victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem at a nearby government hospital.

Hotel Staff Reaction

When reporters visited the hotel, Prakash Shukla, a cousin of the hotel owner, said:

“I was called here by the manager around 8 am. I do not know what exactly happened. The manager and other staff are at the police station for questioning.”

This tragic case highlights the dark side of toxic relationships and gender-based violence. It also raises questions about the safety of women in private spaces and the need for stronger intervention when relationships turn abusive.
