Dhananjay Munde vs. Karuna Sharma: A Legal Battle Over Family and Power

Maharashtra’s Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde is once again in the spotlight—not for his political work, but for a long and messy legal battle with his separated partner, Karuna Sharma. A Mumbai court has ordered Munde to pay ₹2 lakh per month in maintenance to Sharma and their daughter, after she accused him of domestic violence, emotional abuse, and financial neglect.

For years, Munde denied his relationship with Sharma, but the court found documents proving otherwise, including election affidavits listing her as his wife and their children as dependents. Despite this, Munde’s political career remains strong, even as his personal life turns chaotic.

The case has also turned into a family war. Munde’s son, Seeshiv Munde, publicly defended his father, claiming his mother is lying for revenge. Sharma, on the other hand, says her son is being pressured to discredit her.

But this isn’t just about personal matters—political tensions are rising too. Munde is already facing questions over his links to the murder of Beed sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, in which his close aide Walmik Karad was arrested. Opposition leaders are demanding his resignation, calling him unfit for public office.

Meanwhile, Sharma is preparing for another legal fight, arguing that ₹2 lakh per month isn’t enough and demanding a share in Munde’s assets, which she claims have been illegally transferred to his second wife’s name.

This case is no longer just a domestic dispute—it’s a political storm. Will Sharma get justice, or will power and influence once again decide the outcome? The battle is far from over, and Maharashtra is watching.
