Emily’s wardrobe isn’t the only thing changing this season. In a surprise twist that’s already sending fans into a frenzy, Emily in Paris is heading into Season 5 without one of its most stylish and central characters — Camille Razat, who played the effortlessly chic and emotionally complex Camille.
While filming for Season 5 kicks off in May, the creators confirmed on Thursday that Razat will not return as part of the main cast. Her departure follows a rollercoaster Season 4 that saw heartbreak, betrayal, and a complicated love triangle between Emily, Gabriel, and Camille — with artist Sofia in the mix to spice things up further.
Why Camille’s Exit Stings
Though creator Darren Star hasn’t closed the door on her completely, her presence next season will be minimal, if at all.
“She’s part of their world,” Star told, adding that characters in his universe often “come in and out,” hinting that Camille might reappear in the future.
Camille’s exit marks a significant narrative shift, leaving behind emotional loose ends that fans were eager to see tied up. With her absence, the future of the Emily-Gabriel dynamic — and that famously dramatic wedding-that-wasn’t — suddenly feels wide open.

And there’s more than heartbreak in store. Season 5 is also moving to sunnier horizons — Rome!
Following the Season 4 finale, where Emily and the Agence Grateau team began expanding their business into Italy, the new chapter will see Emily splitting her time between Paris and Rome.
Darren Star told, “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome… but that doesn’t mean she’s leaving Paris for good.”
This location change is all about keeping the story fresh and fans on their toes.
“We wanted to stay ahead of the audience and take them to new places,” Star shared, calling Rome “an exciting canvas” for Emily’s next big chapter.
From heartbreak in haute couture to a Roman reset — Season 5 promises new drama, new love, and new landscapes. Whether Camille makes a surprise return or not, Emily’s story is far from over.
