Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced a major initiative for the unemployed youth of Madhya Pradesh: women will receive ₹6,000 and men ₹5,000 per month as part of a new internship-linked stipend program.
The announcement was made during the bhoomi-pujan ceremony for six new industrial units worth ₹416 crore at Acharpura Industrial Area near Bhopal. These units span textiles, healthcare, agriculture, garments, and other sectors and are expected to create over 1,600 local jobs.
Internships with Income
CM Yadav said unemployed youth who take up internships in registered industries will receive these monthly stipends.
“Factories are temples of hard work,” he added, highlighting the government’s focus on combining industrial development with youth empowerment.
Expansion of Ladli Behna Yojana
The Chief Minister also shared that women enrolled in the popular Ladli Behna Yojana will receive ₹1,500 per month after Diwali, with the amount increasing to ₹3,000 by 2028. A special festive gift will also be given to women during the Sawan season.
Industrial Push in Acharpura
To boost industrial growth, Acharpura is being developed as a special industrial hub. Phase 3 of the Acharpura Industrial Area Extension will be set up in Village Hajjampur across 31.21 hectares.
“Jackets made in Acharpura are being exported to the US and other countries. Even China is buying our cotton. Madhya Pradesh’s quality is being recognised globally,” said Dr. Yadav.
The state government has organised investment roadshows in Indian cities and countries like the UK, Germany, Spain, Japan, and Dubai to attract capital. The CM noted that Thursday’s groundbreaking event and land allotment letters are direct results of these efforts.
A Nod to the Past
This new scheme echoes the earlier 2019 Yuva Swabhiman Rojgar Yojana, launched by former CM Kamal Nath, which had offered ₹4,000 per month to urban unemployed youth. That program was discontinued after the change in government.
With over 1.5 crore youth in Madhya Pradesh, including more than 1.53 crore between the ages of 20 and 30, this initiative could be a game-changer for employment and skill-building in the state.
