Infosys has rolled out salary hikes for its employees, rewarding them based on their performance. While most employees received an increase between 5% and 8%, top performers secured raises of up to 20%. However, some employees had expected higher increments, leading to mixed reactions within the company.
Who Gets What? Salary Hike Breakdown
Infosys categorized employees into three performance levels:
- Outstanding Performers → 10% – 20% hike
- Commendable Performance → 7% – 10% hike
- Met Expectations → 5% – 7% hike
- Needs Improvement → No salary hike
While the hikes reward high performers, the overall increments are 5-10% lower than the last salary revision in November 2023.
When Do Salary Hikes Take Effect?
The salary revisions apply to different levels within the company:
- Job Level 5 (Team Leaders & Below) → Pay hikes are retroactive from January 1, 2024
- Job Level 6 (Managers below VP Level) → Salary hikes start from April 1, 2024
Lower Hikes and Reduced Bonuses
Infosys had previously increased salaries in November 2023 after freezing hikes in 2022. However, this year’s increments are comparatively lower, following the company’s recent reduction in performance-based bonuses due to industry challenges.
Employee Reactions: Silence Speaks Volumes
Many Infosys employees had expected a bigger salary hike. On past occasions, salary hike announcements led to lively discussions in MS Teams groups, but this time, many remained unusually quiet, signaling possible disappointment.
Infosys Continues Growth Despite Industry Challenges
Despite lower-than-expected hikes, Infosys remains financially strong. In the October-December 2024 quarter, the company reported:
- Net profit: $800 million (11.4% growth)
- Revenue: $4.9 billion (7.6% growth)
Even as the IT industry faces headwinds, Infosys continues to expand while keeping a cautious approach to salary increments and bonuses.
