Israel Kills 70 in Gaza; Qatar PM Slams ‘State Terrorism’

Netanyahu must be “brought to justice,” says Sheikh Mohammed after rare strikes on Doha

At least 70 people were killed in Gaza and six more in Doha after Israeli airstrikes on Hamas leaders, triggering outrage from Qatar and global condemnation.

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani accused Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu of “state terrorism” and demanded he be “brought to justice.”

Deadly Strikes Spread Beyond Borders

  • Israeli warplanes hit a Hamas meeting in Doha on Tuesday, killing Khalil al-Hayya’s son, his office director, three bodyguards, and a Qatari security officer.

  • The Doha attack marked the sixth country struck by Israel in 72 hours — and the seventh this year.

  • Gaza City also saw heavy bombardment near a camp for displaced people, leaving scores dead.

The strike on Doha was not an isolated incident. In fact, Israel has dramatically expanded its military operations beyond Gaza in recent days. Between September 8 and 10, 2025, Israel launched airstrikes across six countries in the Middle East and North Africa — Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, Qatar, and Yemen.

Qatar Hits Back

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry vowed to continue its mediation role despite Netanyahu’s remarks. Officials said Doha remains a “trusted and impartial” broker in Gaza ceasefire talks.
PM Sheikh Mohammed warned of a “collective response” to what he called Israeli “bullying.”

Israel, US Positions

Israel’s envoy to Washington, Yechiel Leiter, blasted Qatar for hosting Hamas, saying its leaders are “on notice” and “going to be eliminated.” He accused Doha of financing terror.

Qatar countered that Hamas’s presence in Doha was part of mediation requested by the US and Israel themselves.

At the same time, Trump’s White House acknowledged being briefed in advance of the Doha strike but distanced itself, saying it did not endorse the action.

Regional Fallout

  • Gulf media accused Netanyahu of being a “liability to America.”

  • Qatar noted it hosts the largest US military base in the Middle East.

  • Analysts warned the strikes risk dragging the wider region into chaos, undermining US-backed ceasefire talks.
