Bareilly |
In an inspiring act of bravery and compassion, Khushboo Patani, a former Indian Army officer and sister of actor Disha Patani, rescued an abandoned baby girl from a rundown building in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
Khushboo, who was on her routine morning walk on Sunday, heard faint cries from an old, deserted shanty near her house. Without hesitation, she climbed a wall to investigate and found a tiny infant girl—alone, crying, and injured.
She captured the moment in a video shared on Instagram, where she’s seen gently comforting the child. Naming the baby “Radha,” Khushboo said she would ensure the child is safely handed over to authorities and gets the care she deserves.
“If you are from Bareilly and this is your child, then tell us how the parents left her like this. Shame on such parents!”
she said in her emotional appeal to the public, urging people to come forward with information and help trace the child’s family.
In her post, she wrote,
“Jako rakhe Saiyan, maar sake na koi. I hope she will be taken care by authorities. I will ensure she goes to the right hands and her life flourishes henceforth.”

Khushboo’s gesture touched hearts across the country. Her sister Disha Patani commented, “God bless her and you,” while actress Bhumi Pednekar wrote, “Just cried seeing this. Sad, but great that God sent you there to save this child. More power to you.”
Even the police praised her prompt action. According to Circle Officer Pankaj Srivastava, the baby has been taken into care and medical treatment is underway. Authorities are investigating the case and trying to find out who abandoned the child.
