Maharashtra’s Finances in Trouble? Sanjay Raut Raises Red Flag Over Salary Delays

Published:

Senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has alleged that Maharashtra is facing a financial crisis so severe that the state government is struggling to pay its employees on time. Addressing media persons in Nashik, Raut claimed that even Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar has expressed concern over the state’s deteriorating fiscal condition.

According to Raut, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde recently raised the issue with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging that necessary funds are not being released by the Finance Department.

“If Shah’s reply is made public, the real picture of the state’s finances will be crystal clear,” said Raut.

🧾 Key Issues Raised:

  • Delayed Salaries: State employees reportedly facing delays in receiving their pay.

  • Inter-departmental Disputes: Finance ministry allegedly not allocating sufficient funds.

  • Central Government Involvement: Amit Shah was briefed on the situation by Deputy CM Shinde.

Raut also demanded a probe into serious claims made by suspended police officer Valmik Karad, who alleged being instructed to conduct an encounter related to the Santosh Deshmukh murder case.

“If it’s in the official police diary, why wasn’t it investigated?” he questioned.

Additionally, he flagged the deteriorating law and order situation in Sindhudurg, stating that over 27 murders have occurred in recent times, including nine Shiv Sena workers—suggesting the district’s situation is more alarming than even Beed.
