Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the much-anticipated DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport, marking a historic milestone for India’s aviation sector.
Built at an estimated cost of ₹19,650 crore, the airport is India’s first fully digital and AI-enabled airport, developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) between CIDCO and Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL).
With its inauguration, Mumbai joins global cities like London, New York, and Tokyo in boasting multiple international airports. Commercial operations are expected to begin in December 2025, positioning the hub as a major aviation, logistics, and employment driver for western India.
