Pune International Airport has launched the ‘Udaan Café’ near the new terminal’s departure gate, offering low-cost food and beverage options to travelers. Starting April 28, tea and bottled water are available for ₹10 each, while coffee, samosas, and sweets are priced at ₹20 each.
The initiative is part of the Government of India’s ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik’ (UDAN) scheme, which aims to make air travel more accessible and affordable. The café is intended to provide economical refreshment options for all passengers, including frequent travelers, senior citizens, and budget-conscious flyers.
The Udaan Café model has already been successfully implemented at other airports such as Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Chennai, receiving positive feedback from passengers.
Officials stated that the availability of reasonably priced refreshments within airport premises is expected to enhance the overall passenger experience. Travelers have welcomed the initiative, citing the affordability and convenience it brings to airport facilities.
