Pune is set to go wild — literally! The city will host the second edition of the Wildlife Festival for Kids on Saturday, June 14, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the scenic Bougainvillea Farms on DP Road near Mhatre Bridge. The festival, supported by the Pune Forest Division, offers a perfect mix of fun, learning, and nature magic — all for free!
Star of the Show: Tadoba’s Famous ‘Birdman’
Headlining this year’s festival is none other than Sumedh Waghmare, the Birdman of Tadoba, known for mimicking over 200 bird and animal calls. His incredible skill has earned him viral fame — even cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar shared their meeting on social media!
Prepare to be transported to the jungle as Sumedh brings the sounds of the wild alive for children and parents alike.
Nature, Stories, and Cinema Under the Stars
The festival’s line-up is packed with interactive and inspiring sessions:
🌿 Arpit Mairal (Range Forest Officer, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve) will talk about wildlife conservation.
🦉 Dr. Prachi Mehta, India’s renowned owl expert, will unveil the fascinating “World of Owls”.
🎭 A puppet show by Mrudula Kelkar’s team will teach children about man-animal coexistence — through charming tales and colourful puppets.
As the sun sets, the farm will turn into an open-air theatre for a curated selection of wildlife films, including:
