In a remarkable achievement, 22-year-old Shivansh Jagade from Rule village near Panshet, Pune, has cleared the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination in his first attempt, securing an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 26—and all this without any formal coaching.
From a Humble Village to National Recognition
Shivansh hails from a modest family background. His father is a farmer, his mother works as a seamstress, and his elder sister is a lawyer. Growing up in a rural setting in Rajgad taluka, Shivansh always dreamt of bringing positive change to society. His drive to ensure justice and uplift the underprivileged led him to pursue the UPSC journey.
Self-Study, Discipline, and Determination
Unlike many aspirants who enroll in costly coaching centers, Shivansh charted his own path. Initially preparing for the NDA exam, he later shifted his focus to the civil services. Through disciplined self-study and strategic planning, he managed to crack one of India’s toughest exams—all while staying rooted in his village.
“Determination Makes Anything Possible”
In a message to fellow aspirants, Shivansh said,
“Since childhood, I’ve wanted to do something meaningful. Civil services gave me the right platform to serve people. If you have clarity of purpose and work hard, nothing can stop you.”
His inspiring journey has not only brought pride to his family but has also made him the first IAS officer from Rule village and the larger Rajgad region.
Shivansh’s story is a shining example for thousands of rural youths, proving that with the right mindset and unwavering dedication, dreams can indeed turn into reality.
