New Delhi: OpenAI has unveiled its most advanced AI model yet, GPT-5, and CEO Sam Altman believes India may soon overtake the US as the company’s top market.
Currently, India is OpenAI’s second-largest market, with rapid adoption across individuals and businesses. Calling India “incredibly fast-growing,” Altman praised the creative and practical ways Indians are using AI, adding that the company is working with local partners to make the technology affordable and relevant to Indian needs. He will visit India in September to engage with the AI community, according to PTI.
“India is our second-largest market in the world after the US, and it may well become our largest. What citizens of India are doing with AI is really quite remarkable,” Altman said.
