Stand-up comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina recently addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding his show India’s Got Latent during a live performance in Canada. While visibly stressed, he managed to engage the audience, even cracking jokes about the situation.
A fan who attended the show shared on social media that Raina began his set with humor, saying, “Thanks for paying my lawyer’s fees.” He also joked, “There will be moments where I could say something really funny, but just remember BeerBiceps, brother.” His closing remark, “Maybe my time is bad right now, but remember—I am the time,” hinted at his resilience despite the backlash.
The controversy erupted after Raina’s co-host, Ranveer Allahbadia, made an inappropriate remark in a recent episode, sparking public outrage and multiple complaints. In response, Raina removed the video from all platforms, and Allahbadia issued an apology.
The incident has fueled discussions on content regulations and freedom of expression in India’s digital entertainment space.
