The Supreme Court has given YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia some relief by stopping any new FIRs from being filed against him. However, he must submit his passport and cannot leave the country without permission.
The case revolves around Allahbadia’s comments on the show India’s Got Latent, which sparked outrage and led to multiple FIRs in Maharashtra and Assam. He was accused of making vulgar and obscene remarks. Seeking protection, Allahbadia approached the Supreme Court to combine all FIRs into a single case.
While providing relief from additional cases, the court criticized him, reminding public figures to be mindful of their words and not take societal norms lightly. Despite the rebuke, Allahbadia must now cooperate with ongoing investigations.
With legal proceedings still underway, the influencer remains under scrutiny, and authorities will continue their probe as per the court’s directives.
