Haridwar l June 6, 2025
A former BJP Mahila Morcha leader in Uttarakhand has been arrested along with her boyfriend and his aide for allegedly facilitating the repeated rape of her 13-year-old daughter, police said on Thursday.
The arrests were made after the minor’s father filed a complaint, leading to the detention of the accused woman and her boyfriend from a Haridwar hotel on Wednesday. The third accused, the boyfriend’s aide, was arrested later that night in Shahpur, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh).
Details of the Case
According to the complaint, the girl was taken by her estranged mother in January 2025 to BHEL stadium along with her boyfriend and his accomplice. Over the next five months, the two men allegedly raped the minor in multiple locations, including Agra, Vrindavan, and Haridwar—with her mother’s consent and presence. The accused also reportedly threatened to kill the girl’s father if she revealed the abuse.
A medical examination confirmed the sexual assault, prompting police to register an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police Investigation Underway
Kamal Mohan Bhandari, in-charge of Ranipur Kotwali, stated that the accused woman had been living separately from her husband and was staying with her boyfriend in a Haridwar hotel. Police teams will visit Agra and Vrindavan to gather evidence from the crime scenes.
“Apart from the hotel in Haridwar, the police will go to all the places in Uttar Pradesh and other states where she has gone with her daughter and collect evidence of the incident as narrated by the girl,” Bhandari said.
Authorities are also scrutinizing the accused woman’s phone records. Reports suggest she has been stripped of her BJP primary membership following the allegations.

Uttarakhand Women’s Commission chairperson Kusum Kandwal has taken suo motu cognizance of the case and sought details from Haridwar Police. SP City Pankaj Gairola provided a comprehensive briefing, with Kandwal commending the police action while assuring full support to the victim’s family.
